Effect on 1 August 2021, the rate of stamp duty payable on contract notes for sale or purchase of Hong Kong stock is raised from 0.1 per cent to 0.13 per cent of the consideration or value of each transaction payable by buyers and sellers respectively. It also correspondingly raises the rate of stamp duty payable on certain other transfers of such stock.
